First Aid Kit gained a large popularity back in 2014-2015, which was when I found them first. A country duo mixed with indie and pop, they began to break boundaries within music that were absolutely new at the time. And now, finally, they're releasing a new album, 'Palomino'.
The duo performed their newer set at Glastonbury this year, with a large loving crowd. Eager to get back to performing, they've released a new tour revolving around Palomino, of which I'll be attending this December. Their fans are not only eager, but have high expectations, and as of yet, have not been disappointed.
With a few singles already released, 'Angel', 'Out of my Head', 'The Boys of Summer', every song has been absolutely championed, loved, and long-awaited for. The songs are all individually incredible, and without a single skip yet, the album is being held with high regards already.
First Aid Kit have been consistent with their music, lyrics with deep meanings and their sound still totally unique to them. The gap between their last album and now, with their upcoming one, has arguably been the most awaited, and the longest.
Palomino is a term used for both horses and wine, in tune with their country-esque aesthetic. The names of most tracks have already been released, once more expected titles aligned with the same themes as their previous ones.
Come back here in December for my review of First Aid Kit live and a review on their new songs. I look forward to seeing a band that has amounted to a lot to me, in meaning, and have been the soundtrack to a good solid few years of my life.
