On the 12th of September, Metteson performed their first headline show which was in London. I was lucky enough to be on the guest list and brought a friend along with me. The show only had one complaint from me; I wish it would've been longer!
Metteson is an absolute force on stage. With a presence that is fierce, you cannot help but keep your eyes on him. The show was sold out, which is a massive achievement for your first headline show. What I particularly loved about this show was that Metteson got into the crowd, interacting with those there to see him. Immersing himself into the atmosphere was almost a must.
As I've mentioned before in my other articles about Metteson, the choreography is often the star of the show. I was sitting down but as they danced, I felt the need to get up and join in with the choreography. As Metteson said in our interview; dancing loosens everyone up and creates a safe space to be free.
Where was 80 miles on the setlist? Who knows, but Metteson, we need it back. Arguably, almost every song by Metteson is a show stopper, and star of the show. You simply can't help but sing along to every single one, even if you don't know it, by the end, you do.
We had the pleasure of hearing 'Wallace', a new song that Metteson wrote whilst in London. Not only was it beautiful, brilliant, and heart wrenching, but it might just be my new favourite song.
Metteson has been playing festivals, opening for big incredible artists, and now, has had his first headline show. It's safe to say, and an understatement at that, that Metteson is someone you should be on the look out for, and listening to repeatedly. Wallace was beautiful, look out for his new heart smashing song.
