LP's New Album 'Churches' is conflicting.

Although I am a known-fan of singer LP, this new album was slightly conflicting when it came to how I felt about it. I've been a fan of LP for years and am seeing her live for the first time in January - which I am SO excited about. There are many reasons as to why LP is so famous and it starts with her incredible vocals. But this album could be a hit and miss.

What I've loved about LP's previous albums has been the variation. An example being the difference between her songs like Girls Go Wild and Switchblade. She had the ability to change up, go from typical country sounds to western to rock to indie to pop. However, this album fell slightly short on the spectrum of range.

That's not to say it wasn't good - LP has the inability to lose her incredible voice of which is certainly one of a kind and mind blowing every time I listen to it. From whistle tones to vocal range, she has it all. LP is a singer that everyone must listen to at least once, to experience her greatness.

'Churches' does have several bangers on it despite its lack of range. But that's up to opinion, like everything. I think that LP thrives when it comes to repetitive chord progressions and catchy lyrics, it creates the ability for an easy good review. A lot of the songs blended into one another, which again, is down to personal interpretation if that's liked or not.

LP is not known as a youthful singer, but her music videos all have a similar touch to them. Although the branding is spot on, it would be wonderful to see LP leave her comfort zone and do something more modern and youthful with slightly nicer cinematography.

Despite my opinion on her new album, I think of LP very highly. She is talented out of this world and has broken so many stereotypes and boundaries during her career. I look forward to writing a review on her live in January, and for any future music she releases.
