Well - we all knew I'd be here again. Not so long ago, I did a review on K.Flay's EP and now, the day has come, her album is out, and just like her EP, I am pleasantly pleased with it - but that's no surprise, is it?
These days, it's hard to find an album with an interesting title that actually captivates me. But, Inside voices / outside voices, is one that breaks that mould. I am happy to say that K.Flay has always been one to speak on important things, and this album, not just the title alone, really shows that.
I've already touched upon the songs on this album that were in the EP, which were amazing as usual. But, of course, the new songs un-heard were also brilliant. I'll admit I have a preference for the EP ones, nonetheless, it doesn't take away from the beauty of the new ones.
We of course have to talk about these covers - the new one above released with some of the singles of the album is beautiful. K.Flay doesn't exactly have a specific brand or aesthetic, nor is she completely aesthetic-less, which is a great middle ground. The images here are gorgeous and perfect for her branding - grainy, close up, and colourful.
K.Flay is currently touring this year and although I have no plans to see her, it is only because I saw her perform years ago - and she was brilliant. I highly recommend going to see her because she is a vessel of energy and fun on stage, which is not something I can say for every performer.
