The 16th of June, Billie Eilish plays the o2 arena for a hundredth time and smashes it as always - and it only took me forty-eight hours of camping on the cold ground to get barricade. And the entire two hours was me gay panicking and reaching octaves with my screaming I didn't know I could even reach. So, yeah. It was worth it.
What I loved most about Billie's performance was that she truly just wanted everyone to have a good time. It's clear she loves performing her most upbeat songs and making an arena of twenty-thousand dance, sing, scream and jump (and cry). Her intentions are clear as she asks you to shake out how you feel, focus on what makes you angry, get it out of you, and make the vibes as good as she can.
We all know Billie sounds exactly how she does in her recordings, there's nothing to report here except for what we already know. But for a lot of fans, it was overwhelming having her right in front of us, me holding three people at once to try to get them not to cry anymore. The experience of Billie live is overwhelming, especially after camping, but emotional too, for everyone, mostly in a beautiful way.
Billie can certainly put on a show, dancing around, interacting, giving little speeches, she captures everybody in the crowds attention with absolute easy. Not to mention, the utmost insane *purposely sexual* drops to the floor which had everybody screaming for their lives.
Sharing the stage with her brother, musician Finneas, it's beautiful to see the way she shares the stage and wants to give him his own limelight, thanking him for everything each and every show they do. Almost crying several times, and admitting that she was, to quote, 'going through it', it's heartwarming to see how happy she is performing, with her brother, to all of us.
Everybody loves Billie, and everybody should love Billie, but everyone needs to experience seeing her live. It is exactly that; an experience, and one that feels so rare and personal.
